Go! Apollo 11

This piece was commissioned for a friend who loves space and the song 'Go!' by the band Public Service Broadcasting.  The song uses actual recordings from NASA's mission control during the  Apollo 11 mission..

When listening to the song, I fell in love with Flight Director Gene Kranz's words: "We're off to a good start [...] Play it cool".  The friend for whom this piece was created is a fellow graduate student, and these words felt like something encouraging that he could look at while continuing on with his mission to complete his Ph.D. thesis.

This piece was designed in Illustrator and used actual images of the moon and earth to get the geographic features to be accurate.
