In many ways my love of science is deeply connected to my love of art.  Both science and art require an intimate knowledge of your craft and endless hours of trial and error.  My favorite parts of the PhD have been when those worlds collide while designing and prototyping a new piece of equipment or creating slides to tell the story of my research.
